Logitech is one of the best in the business when it comes to designing and creating webcams. Their new Logitech C930C could be the best one ever. Thanks to the encoding technologies built into the camera, it is capable of streaming 1080p at 30FPS for Skype, Cisco WebEx, Twitch, and other video chat/streaming services. Thanks to the high-quality video and audio, flexible mount, and wide field-of-view, it’s no surprise the Logitech C930C is on the way to becoming the best consumer-level webcam.

Design, Features, and Setup

The new Logitech C930C is primarily made from black plastic. It comes with a cable and clip included in the package. The glass lens is made from Carl Zeiss glass, and this is sure to be one of the stand-out features. This glass is the king of glass. There are stereo microphones on either side of the lens with a mount on the bottom featuring padded rubber for a more secure mounting.

The mount itself is better than you might think. It sits comfortably on desktop monitors and laptop lids and even sits on shelves. The mount also has an embedded thread that lets it connect to a tripod.

If you’re worried about people hacking your webcam, then you’ll appreciate the privacy cover that lets you physically block the camera lens. There’s no need to worry about software automatically starting up a video feed or if other people have access to the feed when they can’t see anything.

The C930C is super easy to install because it runs on a plug-and-play system. Just plug it into a Windows or Mac computer, and it installs straight from the camera.

The new webcam has an updated version of the RightLight system used by Logitech cameras. The software combines light detection and autofocus for better performance in low-light at different distances from the sensor. This feature gives the camera excellent video quality in most situations. No matter what kind of lighting you put the C930C under, it will adapt and overcome to provide outstanding quality.

The microphone in the camera works really well too. Sound from the built-in microphone comes through clearly. The microphone has noise-cancellation built-in as well, which helps to suppress the background noise of a busy office or desk fan.

In terms of control, users can pan, tilt, and zoom the camera across a 90-degree field-of-view. Everything is digital, though, with no motors at all. Logitech says the camera can reach 4x digital zoom, but there’s not much need to zoom in, and it tends to lead to a drop in sharpness.

  • Sharp video quality and 1080p camera quality
  • A plug-and-play operation for both Windows and Mac

  • No optical zoom options

The Logitech C930C offers sharp 1080p quality video calls and smooth, high-quality recorded audio thanks to noise cancellation. The new Logitech camera is a great choice for anyone who needs a robust consumer-grade webcam for a range of purposes.
